Documents & Files
Access, view, and work with project documents in Teralo. This guide covers how to navigate the document library and use the document viewer.
Accessing Documents
Document Library
The Documents section contains all files shared with the project:
- Drawings: Architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
- Specifications: Project specifications and standards
- Reports: Progress reports, inspection reports, and assessments
- Contracts: Contract documents and variations
- Correspondence: Formal letters and communications
- Photos: Site photographs and documentation
Finding Documents
Use the search and filter options to find specific documents:
- Search: Search by document number, title, or content
- Filter by Type: Show only specific document types
- Filter by Status: Show documents with specific statuses
- Filter by Date: Find documents from a specific time period
- Sort Options: Sort by date, name, or document number
Viewing Documents
Document Viewer
Teralo includes built-in viewers for different file types:
PDF Documents
The PDF viewer includes powerful annotation features:
- Pan and Zoom: Navigate large drawings easily
- Annotations: Add comments, highlights, and markups
- Measure Tool: Take measurements directly on drawings
- Compare Versions: View two revisions side-by-side
- Search Text: Find specific text within documents
Spreadsheets
Excel files open in a spreadsheet viewer:
- View all sheets within a workbook
- Resize columns and rows
- Navigate large spreadsheets easily
3D Models (IFC)
BIM models are displayed in a 3D viewer:
- Rotate and pan the model
- Zoom in on specific areas
- Show/hide different building elements
- View model properties
Document Information
Each document shows:
- Document Number: Unique identifier
- Title: Document name
- Revision: Current revision (A, B, C, etc.)
- Status: Current approval status
- Author: Who uploaded the document
- Date: When it was uploaded or last modified
Downloading Documents
To download documents (if permitted):
- Open the document in the viewer
- Click the Download button
- Choose the file format if options are available
- The file will download to your device
Bulk Downloads
To download multiple documents:
- Select the documents you want
- Click Download Selected
- Files will be downloaded as a ZIP archive
Public Document Links
Sometimes you may receive a document via a public link instead of through the platform:
- These links work without logging in
- Links may have expiry dates
- Access is tracked for security
Document Permissions
Your ability to interact with documents depends on your permissions:
- View Documents: See and read documents
- Download Documents: Download files to your device
- Upload Documents: Add new files (usually host-only)
- Annotate Documents: Add markups and comments
- Review Documents: Participate in review workflows
